1. How does the online Driver Record service work?

The online Driver Record printing service is a simple process.

Step 1: Login

Login by entering your:

  1. Driver License number,
  2. Date of birth,
  3. Last 4 digits of your Social Security number (must be on file with DPS), and
  4. Audit number (see Driver License samples for location of audit number)

Step 2: Request Driver Record

Select Driver Record type and enter address.

Step 3: Review Order and Make Payment

Review order information, make edits if necessary, and then submit payment information.

Step 4: Print Driver Record

Select the "Print Driver Record" button and print the Driver Record before logging out or closing the window.

NOTE: In order to print your Driver Record, you must have

  1. Adobe Reader (Download Adobe Reader)
  2. Access to a working printer

2. What types of Driver Records can be printed using this service?

3. If I don’t have a printer available can I have the Driver Record mailed to me?

No. Through this service, your only option is to print the Driver Record after successful payment. There is no option to have the Driver Record mailed to your physical address using this service.

If you would like to have a Driver Record mailed to you, please complete the Driver Record Request Form and mail in your request.

4. How many Driver Records can I request?

Only one record can be requested at a time. However, there is no limit to the number of times you may login for additional requests.

5. Can I request Driver Records online any time?

Yes, this service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during periods of routine maintenance down time.

6. How is the Driver Record delivered to me?

Driver Records are delivered as PDF documents, available to print after successful payment. There is no option to have the Driver Records mailed to your physical address using this service.

7. How long will it take to obtain the requested Driver Record?

The requested Driver Records are available to print immediately after successful payment. This service does not provide an option to have the Driver Record mailed to you.

Yes, a receipt page is available to print in addition to your Driver Record.

9. Who is eligible to use this service to request and print Driver Records?

You are eligible to request Driver Records online if you are requesting a Texas Driver Record for a Non-Commercial or Commercial Texas Driver License or a Texas Identification Card. Your browser must also support 128-bit encryption.

Yes, Commercial Driver License holders can use this online service to request and print their own Driver Record.

12. How much do online Driver Records cost?

Type Description Price
Type 1 (Status Record): Name, date of birth (DOB), license status, and current address. $4.50
Type 2 (3-year Driving History): Name, DOB, license status, list of accidents and violations in record within past 3-year period $6.50
Type 2A (Certified 3-year Driving History): Certified version of Type 2. (Not acceptable for Defensive Driving Course.) $12.00
Type 3 (Complete Driving History): Name, DOB, license status, list of all accidents and violations in record. $7.50
Type 3A (Certified Complete Driving History): Certified version of Type 3. (Acceptable for Defensive Driving Course.) $12.00
Type AR (Abstract Driver Record): Certified abstract of complete Driving Record $22.00

The above fees include a $2.00 Texas.gov Administration Fee. A refund may not be processed once the Driver Records are requested.

Only one Driver Record can be requested and printed at a time. Therefore, each Driver Record will be paid for separately. There is no limit to the number of times you may login for additional requests.
